Welcome to Bright Futures!
If you live or work with children, we have something for you!
Bright Futures is an umbrella covering direct and indirect services for young (birth-5) children and their families. We recognize the challenges modern parents encounter and hope to assist with programs, materials, ideas or a helpful ear. We work WITH parents and providers to build strong foundations for school and life.

Preschool
State, federal, and local funds support our free preschool program for 3-5 year olds. We have blended classes of typically developing children and those children identified as having a disability. Class sizes range from 17 to 20 with at least two adults in a class. Children need to go through a screening process (Learning Check Up) to determine eligibility. The program enrolls children who have been identified as eligible. Over 450 children are served across the county each year.
Partners in Parenting
An early learning program for parents with children birth to 3 years of age. We are affiliated with Parents As Teachers, a nationally known program which has provided services to many families throughout the U.S. and six countries abroad.
Learning Center
The center provides FREE resources for parents, providers, and the families of our Knox County community. Come in and see all of the toys available for you to borrow.
School Physicals Are Required
The State of Illinois requires students entering Preschool, Kindergarten, 6th and 9th grades to provide a school physical within one calendar year of registration for school. If you have a preschooler going into Kindergarten next year, or a 5th grader going into 6th, or an 8th grader who will be a freshman in August 2013, you may get their physicals at any time between today and August of 2013 and it will meet the requirement. Please do not wait for the summer rush to make your appointment!! Make it now!! Students who do not have the required physical in August will not be allowed to start school until they have their physical on file.
