The Week of the Young Child™ is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The purpose of the Week of the Young Child™ is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
Early childhood education is vital to our community. Children need a strong early learning foundation to succeed in school and to succeed in life. This week people around the nation will be celebrating young children. Bright Futures will be celebrating by having dress up days for your child to participate in and a parade at the end of the week. Monday, April 7th: Opposite Day Wear everything opposite than you normally would: shirt backwards, hair wacky, mismatch clothes, opposite socks and shoes, etc. Tuesday, April 8th: Hat Day Wear your favorite hat and dress to match it. Wear a sports hat with your favorite sports shirt, wear a beach hat with your beach wear, etc. Wednesday, April 9th: Western Day Wear your cowboy boots, cowboy hat, plaid shirt, neck bandana, or if you do not have anything western you can make a vest out of a brown paper bag. Thursday, April 10th: Pajama Day Wear your favorite pajamas. Friday, April 11th: Class Color Day & Parade Wear your Bright Futures shirt or if you do not have one wear a shirt that is the same color as your room color. |
